Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kayro Wave for Applications and Real Estate Marketing LLC ("Kayro," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Kayro mobile application and related services (the "App"). Kayro is a property booking marketplace operating in Egypt. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

You must be 18 or older to use Kayro. The App is intended for adults only.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information, all of which you provide or generate while using the App. We do not collect your email address, contacts, calendar, browsing history, or health data, and we do not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics or tracking tools.

Account and profile information

• Phone number - used as your primary login. We send a one-time verification code (OTP) to confirm it.
• Name - the full name you enter when registering.
• Gender and account role (guest or host) - optional. Gender is used only to match shared-housing arrangements in line with applicable local law; you are not required to provide it.
• Profile photo - if you choose to upload one.

Identity verification (KYC)

• Government ID - when you complete identity verification, we collect your document type (National ID or Passport), the document number, and an image of the document. This is used solely for identity verification, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Location

• Precise device location - only if you grant permission, and only while you are using the App, so we can show properties near you. You can use the App without granting location access.

Payment information

• Card payments are handled by our payment processor, Kashier. Card details are entered with, and processed by, Kashier - Kayro does not receive or store your card numbers.
• Payment and payout details you add - such as a mobile wallet number or a bank account / InstaPay handle used to receive host payouts. You can remove these at any time.
• Transaction records - your bookings, top-ups, and payout history, shown in the App as a wallet balance.

About the Kayro wallet: the wallet is a record of your balance, not funds held by Kayro. Money moves directly between you and the licensed payment processor; the processor then disburses payouts to Kayro (as commission) and to hosts. Kayro does not hold or custody your money.

Photos and content you create

• Photos - profile pictures, property images (for hosts), and the ID document images described above, uploaded from your photo library.
• Listings and activity - property listings you create, bookings, favorites, trips, and searches you perform in the App.

Device information

• Push notification token / device identifier - so we can send you booking and account notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in the App or your device settings.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To operate the marketplace: search, listings, bookings, payments, and payouts.
• To verify your identity and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
• To show you relevant properties, including those near your location.
• To send transactional and account notifications you have enabled.
• To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service:

• Kashier (payment processor) - card and payment data is collected and processed by Kashier to complete transactions and payouts.
• Push notification services - device push tokens are processed by Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging), Apple (APNs), and Expo to deliver notifications to your device.
• Between guests and hosts - limited booking information is shared with the counterparty to a booking, as necessary to fulfill it.
• Legal and safety - where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the platform.

We do not otherwise sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

4. Data security

All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keystore (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). Card data is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor and is never stored by Kayro. We apply administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including access controls on identity records.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Payment and payout methods you add (such as a mobile wallet or bank/InstaPay account) are kept until you delete them. Identity verification (KYC) records may be retained after account closure where required to meet legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Kayro does not store card or banking credential data.

6. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction - you can view and update your profile in the App, or contact us for a copy of your data.
• Location and notifications - you control these permissions in the App and in your device settings.
• Payment methods - you can remove any saved payment or payout method in the App at any time.
• Account and data deletion - you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. See how to request deletion or email hello@kayrowave.com. We will delete your data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to retain.

7. Age requirement

Kayro is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notified in the App.
